Obergo Expression

Tasting notes

This wine is intensely aromatic and full-bodied, with flowery notes on notes of very ripe pears and a hint, not only of citric and tropical fruits, but also of the smell of patisserie and cream. On the palate the wine has a long aftertaste and is silky with an elegant fullness. A touch of vanilla in the finish is indicative of the wine’s short ageing in French oak.

Bright light golden colour. Pure and fresh nose, rather discreet fruit, some citrus, ginger and nutty notes. The palate is medium bodied and crisp with restrained fruit, almond, citrus and some herbal notes. Rather restrained fruit but good purity and length.

Winemaker notes

Smart and modern wine, made by a manual recollection of its grapes into very small boxes. Careful selection of bunch of grapes once boxes arrive to our winery. Grape pressed at cold temperatures to preserve the materia. It has been an ideal year for cold pre-fermented soaking, given the perfect healthiness and ripeness of the grape. The aromatic extraction has been highly satisfactory.

Selection of the grapes at the winery entrance, de-stemming and crushed and into the stainless steel tank with carbonic ice. Cold maceration for 2 hours. Pressed in a vertical traditional press. Fermented in new French oak barriques of 300 litres at controlled temperature. Ageing: with its lees with regular bâtonnage (lees stirring) for 6 months.
