The rich, sensual aroma is typical of the grape varieties recalling small red and black berries (cherries and blackcurrants), black pepper, fruit in light syrup and a hint of chocolate and leather, characteristic notes from ageing. On the palate the wine is full and silky with dense, well-structured tannins.

Obergo Varietales
Winemaker notes
This wine presents a Northern profile, from the sensory parameters of the grape (complex, balanced and with a lot of ripe fruit). This is probably due to a rather cool summer with milder temperatures, and to a later than usual harvest which coincided with the first of the autumn chills.
Pre-fermentation cold maceration at a controlled temperature of 10ºC during 96 hours followed by fermentation and maceration during 21 days with frequent remontage (pumping over). This wine was aged for 18 months in French oak barrels followed by a resting period of 4 months after bottling.
